This yearling rattlesnake was probably thinking he was going to spend the winter under some lumber in a Granite Bay garage, but was spotted near a doorway giving away his presence this afternoon.

Just removed this little couple week old rattlesnake from under a door at a Folsom building along the river. The little guy realized there was free AC under the door and was taking advantage of it this toasty afternoon.

This is the second of three 2 - 4 week old rattlesnakes found at a property in Rough and Ready yesterday evening after being called out for a different, but just as young snake in some rosemary.

Just got done removing these little fellas from several spots in a backyard in Rough and Ready. I was called out for one, but realized it was very young and found two of his siblings within 35 feet of the first one.

Just removed this few week old rattlesnake from under a driveway near their entryway deck. It was spotted yesterday hanging out and was still at the entrance to a burrow under the driveway this afternoon.

Just got this little wannabe leaf out of a Rocklin front yard, and is probably no more than 2 weeks old. Over the next 10 - 14 days as we head back into significantly above average temperatures, we'll likely see quite a few snakes thinking it's still safe to cruise around, hunt, and find new hiding spots until we get a more prolonged period of cooler or wet weather.

This time of year it is rather important to ensure your crawlspace is sealed up well to prevent this situation from occuring. Most rattlesnakes return to their same den each cool season, but it is not uncommon for some snakes to hunker down elsewhere if they feel it is suitable. Homes that have comprimised crawlspaces are essentially green-lighting critters to utilize the space as a retreat despite there not being a flashing neon "vacancy" sign outside.

This rattlesnake was removed from inside of a pool pump shed Friday in Loomis, and crawled into this pot after I flipped it and found her. She's missing her rattles permanently due to an injury to the tip of her tail that likely happened a while back that prevents rattles from growing back. She was found in an area with lots of road traffic which could be one possible cause to the injury, or perhaps a mower blade just clipping her due to all of the properties in the area having well mowed grasses & weeds.

Removed this gal from a pool pump shed in Loomis Friday afternoon after the pool guy realized he wasn't alone. This girl doesn't have any rattles due to an injury to the tip of her tail that prevented them from ever growing back, and looks to have been this way for quite a while given her tail healed up very nicely.

Spent almost two hours working to tickle this postpartum female out of a very large rock outcrop in an El Dorado Hills backyard. She likely had her babies a few weeks ago on an adjacent property and was utilizing this backyard rock outcrop under some dense tree canopy to relax after watching over her little ones until they all left last month.

Found this pretty (and rather vibrant) rattlesnake on the other side of the home she was originally spotted at this evening about 20 minutes later when I got to tracking her down.

This large female rattlesnake was for an unknown reason on edge for several hours this afternoon and was rattling loud enough to alert the homeowners through a concrete wall to her presence. I got there a hour later and she was still rattling as I crawled to her position on the opposite end of the house from where access was (snakes often test my luck with how far I have to crawl under structures to find them ).
