The check is in the mail! Very happy to report that a donation of $2400 has been sent to The Watershed Project, complements of PinotFest and some very generous attendees. Huge thank you to everyone who swirled, sipped and supported our efforts to support their efforts: we love what they do and how they do it. Happy Holidays!
Great pics from a super festive PinotFest one week ago! So much incredibly tasty wine. What a blast!
Thank you for the sweet review, Steve! (And the detailed reviews on some vino.) It was a pleasure seeing you yesterday at the trade tasting. http://www.steveheimoff.com//pinotfest-2019-reviews-and-a/
We got signage, thank goodness! (And what looks like a rather large, dandy Beluga whale behind me.) Hopefully the ones on the walls will stay there overnight.
Another trip down PinotFest memory lane from that first celebration in 1999!
A PinotFest blast from the past...our first ever celebration in November 1999!
Huge shout out to David and Amy at Accent Printing & Design in Santa Rosa, and Tony with S.Pellegrino! Every year Accent prints the PinotFest tasting booklets (and does an absolutely bang up job!), and every year San Pellegrino keeps us well hydrated for two days of pinot noir. Thank you both for your generous support of PinotFest!
The wines for PinotFest...they are arriving, and the Farallon Restaurant SF wine cellar is starting to fill up with aquite franklyenviable selection of world class pinot noir. Bring on the juice!
Food, glorious food! Farallon Restaurant SF Chef Jason Ryczek is planning a tantalizing menu of fancy snacks for PinotFest, including Butternut Squash Arancini w/ Pistachio Pesto; Country Pork Paté & Onion Mostarda; Duxelle Vol au Vent w/ Aged Balsamic; Spicy Tuna Poke, Jade Rice & Soy Molasses; Lamb Empanadas w/ Pumpkin Seed Chimichurri; and of course the festival favorite...Confit of Duck Gizzard w/ Fennel Seed & Kirsch. Thank you, Chef!
Kia ora, wine lovers! In addition to a superb line up of West Coast pinot noir producers, this year PinotFest is proud to feature some of the finest New Zealand has to offer, as well. Make sure you stop by the Kiwi Pop-Up table to taste Matahiwi Estate, Ata Rangi, Escarpment Vineyard, Craggy Range Winery, Huia Vineyards, GREYWACKE, Sacred Hill, Mount Riley Wines, The Crater Rim Wine, Mt. Beautiful, The Boneline, Akitu Wanaka, Pyramid Valley Vineyards and Felton Road Winery. See you next weekend!
Sip. Savor. Support. Drive the coast. Take a hike. Visit your favorite winery again (and/or discover a new one). Stay for lunch. Shop! Walk about the square. Chat with a local. Buy the cheese. Enjoy the sunset. Stargaze. Spend the night. Drink the wine. However you wanna do it, now's the time to show Sonoma County some love.
Friends, family, countrymen (and women)...read the post below and order away. (Then open, pour and enjoy!) Thank you, Edmunds St. John, for the compassionate, easy, super tasty way to help out our Sonoma friends in need (plus secure some delicious Thanksgiving day wine). Congratulations on your 35th vintage, Steve!
Four weeks from today, my friends, 52 of the finest pinot noir producers in the land descend on Farallon for PinotFest 2019. Join us for our 21st annual celebration of pinot noir and those who grow it, ferment it, bottle it, drink it, and love it.
