Friday afternoon Pinot Days planning session. Steve's napping, I'm planning. Sounds like I lost a bet, right? But I've got a 2012 Williams Selyem to keep me company....

Hello, Pinot Fans.... Our blast announcing Pinot Days San Francisco went out today, and so many of you asked about my husband and Pinot Days Founder/Producer, Steve Rigisich that I had to respond here. He is recovering from several neurosurgeries he had last Spring. Recovery is slow-ish but steady, and Steve is a ROCK STAR. He is positive and strong and funny and grateful. The pinot helps. I have taken the Pinot Days helm, but I'm not alone - our San Francisco Pinot Day...s Dream Team is at the ready and they carry the event. All of us are very much looking forward to the event on November 11th. After these fires we're especially eager to be in one place with all of our producers, and to raise a glass and count our collective blessings even in the face of our recent challenges. So - here's to our Steve. Here's to pinot. Here's to life as it is, whatever it brings. Fill my glass. I'm ready.

Waxman's Restaurant

We had a tax issue that had been threatening us for nearly five years; it was based on a misinterpretation of tax law as it applies to non-profit wine events. We met with Fiona Ma who took time to hear and research our issue. Thanks to her intervention, the issue was lifted in a matter of weeks, not only clearing the issue up for us, but protecting over 20 other California non-profit wine event organizations (which. along with Pinot Days, would have been annihilated had this ruling stood). Ms. Ma supports small business and hears her constituents, embodying the term, "public servant." On election day, we'll be first in line to offer our support.
