Today we honor the memory of our dearly departed coworker, friend, mentor, and Public Servant, Captain Bob Ramos. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice, giving your life in the line of duty.

Today, we honor 32 California Firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, including Pinole Fire Captain Robert A. Ramos. Join us virtually at 11am to Pay tribute to our fallen brothers and sisters. Due to Covid-19 this years ceremony was cancelled and will take place next year for a 2020/2021 combined ceremony.

We are proud to participate in this year's virtual FILL THE BOOT campaign in support of the MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION. Normally we would get out there in a busy intersection with our boots and accept donations in support of MDA but this year we have to be creative. We’re doing our part to help... with all the major fires across Northern California please stay safe everyone.

Today another fresh fire started just behind my home .. It bought to me the sight when I was close to the wildfires in the Santa Cruz Hills couple of days back .. Each day I hear some new fire as there are multiple active fires in Santa Cruz, San Jose and San Mateo Counties.. The small clip shows how fast this grows and how angry the Mother Nature is .. With the increase in global temperatures leading to climate change, this triggered more. We got to seriously think about thi...s sooner than later. My heart goes out to all the people who are affected by this. Hope we get some rains which can cool down the surroundings and help our firefighters.

Pinole Engine 273 has been working on the SCU lightning complex for the last 48 hours. We are proud to be able to help our neighbors during this State of Emergency while still providing excellent service in Pinole. Stay safe out there everyone. Engine 273 and the Strike Team from Contra Costa County provided structure protection at the prestigious Lick Observatory on the top of Mount Hamilton yesterday.
