Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Pilibos Faculty member, Mr. John Paulos, who taught High School Social Studies at Pilibos from 1979 to 1994. His influence on the successes of Pilibos alumni is undoubtedly attributed to his no nonsense approach both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to teaching Civics, World and US History, Economics, and American Government, his lessons in academic writing, critical thinking, and social responsibility were invaluable. His legacy will live on at Pilibos.

It is with great sorrow and a very heavy heart, that we announce the passing of a shining star- a beautiful daughter, a gracious sister, a gifted Pilibos Scholar alumna, Sanan Mahseredjian. This chapter's chapter coordinator wrote, "Despite having an uncertain and worrying start to the school year, Pilibos JSA has surpassed expectations this month and has proven that it can function properly despite the virtual setting. This chapte...r held a chapter con that ran smoothly and saw participants from numerous JSA chapters. Near weekly meetings have kept members engaged in their chapter, and a number of underclassmen have joined the chapter and are interested in applying for SoCal JSA mid-year cabinet positions. The increased number of participants in meetings and other events show promise for the coming months." In addition, they have used the virtual environment to their advantage by having multiple cross chapter events, including a joint thought talk with sister schools (Mesrobian and Ferrahian) and a thought talk with Loyola JSA.
