Are you looking for some hip stability? Hikers/runners, want to improve your downhill descents? And the rest of you, just get downstairs in one piece? Here is an amazing list, for the very fit - add the BOSU. For the rest of you, work your way up. Though this workout is not exactly Pilates, it's very much Pilates inspired (all the bridges etc), especially when you are mindful of your core.

Healthy, tasty, and in-season dinner tonight: wild salmon, fennel, and oranges. Try it, it was delicious and took all of 20 minutes! I roasted the fennel a bit in the same pan so it would not be too crunchy, and you can add a side of quinoa. http://www.bonappetit.com//pan-roasted-salmon-with-fennel-

What a wonderful piece of writing about running, the connection between exercise and motivation, and about life, from Haruki Murakami. Here is a little snippet: "Now, whenever I feel like I don’t want to run, I always ask myself the same thing: You’re able to make a living as a novelist, working at home, setting your own hours. You don’t have to commute on a packed train or sit through boring meetings. Don’t you realize how fortunate you are? Compared with that, running an hour around the neighborhood is nothing, right? Then I lace up my running shoes and set off without hesitating."

Thanks to my student and colleague, Tony Santangelo for sharing this Huff post article. I couldn't help but notice.... it's the Zone Diet (isn't it?)... "30 percent fat, 30 percent protein, and about 40 percent low starch vegetables and fruits (carbohydrates). " Have any of you followed this ratio, whether consciously or unconsciously?

Jennifer Kries is a well known Pilates instructor and she writes about this week's news out of Lululemon.... I may have to rethink my work uniform. What do you think about this controversy?

I love to cook as much as I do PIlates. If you eat healthy and work out too, your resolve can lag after a while..... that's when I make a bit of homemade ice cream as my post-workout motivation! Just a little bit really satisfies. Apricot season is here, so today I am trying this recipe: http://pastrystudio.blogspot.com//07/apricot-ice-cream.html
