Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud . A spectacular 1st day on our #antelopecanyons #photonerds field trip. We could easily do this workshop every year and never get bored of it. The variation of shapes, textures and colors are seriously endless. If you have never been to the Canyons, you are missing out. . Want to know when your next chance to join Photonerds on a photographic workshop? Visit Photonerds.com for details or leave us a comment below.

It isn’t the mountains ahead that wear you down. It’s the pebbles in your shoes. ~ Muhammad Ali . . You’ve probably seen this scene a thousand times on Instagram. The classic view of the Virgin River leading you to the Watchmen off in the distance. A famous sight in the main canyon of Zion National Park. Sometimes struggling to capture images like this, I remind myself that it is ‘ok’ to have my own copy of iconic landscapes. You can learn from taking a moment to mirror oth...er compositions you’ve admired along your photographic journey. But once you have ‘the’ shot, it’s then time to make it your own. . . On this day we photographed it mid day and then again under the stars. Both challenging as we were interrupted every 20seconds by a car driving by, which made night photos of this scene almost impossible. Definitely required some humor and a lot of patience to get what you wanted. And during the day, at sunset, this small bridge can only hold about 5 people with tripods at best at the angle needed to get this view. I’d say the bridge had about 20-30 photographers that evening. Again, patience and humor will prevail. Give it time. . . After the image was made it was time for some photoshop magic to add just the right amount of color and sky to the scene. Not a bad turn out I’d say. And I’m ok with it being one in a million. . . . . #photonerds #pnfl #zion #watchmen #nationalparks #exploreutah #hike #explore #travel #photographyworkshop #fieldtrip #getoutstayout #usa See more

I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream ~ Vincent Van Gogh . . Sometimes making a photo is all about dreaming the final image in your mind and then creating it. Lightroom and Photoshop can sometimes get a bad rap but the truth is that artists have been editing and modifying their work forever. Here a sky swap and color grading can take a drab, boring image and then make it come alive. .... Don’t share away from the tools that the world has to offer. Use them. All you need is vision. Then Create with Intent! . . . . . #photonerds #pnfl See more

To embark on the journey towards your goals and dreams requires bravery. To remain on that path requires courage. The bridge that merged the two is commitment ~ Dr Steve Maraboli . . Bravery, Courage and Commitment are some seriously strong words when you think about what those words mean. But sometimes holding true to those words you have to make extremely difficult decisions. Like the courage to leave a kush job in pursuit of your dreams. Like the commitment to leave your... family behind when it comes time to travel on the road. Like the bravery to put aside all your insecurities as an artist and embark on a life filled with others viewing and critiquing insecurities with each and every post. . But you will never know what could have been if you don’t give it a try. . . . . . . . #truth #photonerds #pnfl #fallcolors #travel #explore See more
