We found this cormorant with line around it's throat. Captured it and cut off the line, now it will be able to swallow fish. It flew away after release. Photo i...s after release. We think it will do fine. We saw no other damage. Bird was very weak, or we would not have been able to capture it. Our third bird rescue. See more

Nikon does not allow film in their photo contests. Wow. Last year, Nikon has a photography contest in the same fashion that they do every single year since 1969. But in the recent years, they’ve started to ban the use of film cameras in their contests. Each year that this happened, photographers have begged and pleaded to allow the format to be accepted again. However, Nikon’s contest rules and information states that Both color and monochrome images will be accepted. Camera sales It looks like camera sales took a steep nose dive in 2013 with shipped units down around 40% . Even lens sales took a hit with numbers down around 20%. For 2014, the outlook is even worse according to CIPA. Their current estimate is that overall worldwide camera sales will shrink to 55 million units, down from just under 69 million units in 2013. For comparison, overall camera sales were almost 100 million units in 2012.
