Good News! The Dog Park is open! Show your dog how much you love them this Valentines Weekend and take them to the park. Be careful, it's still muddy out there.

Dog Park won't open this afternoon because of the rain. It will also be closed tomorrow (Friday 2/12) and at least 24 hours after the rain stops. This is for the safety of dogs, people, and the turf. We'll see you back at the park when everything dries out.

Dog Park Closure Update! This Thursday (July 23) the Dog Park will be closed ALL DAY. It will NOT be opened in the afternoon as usual. Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District will be doing work to install new trash cans throughout the park. Thanks so much to the Parks Department for helping us keep the Phoenix Dog Park clean.

The Dog Park is Opening! Fair Oaks Parks and Recreation Department has decided to open the Dog Park starting Saturday morning. There are going to be some changes and we are going to need help from you, the Dog Park users, to make sure the park remains safe for everyone. Social Distancing is still very important. Please stay AT LEAST 6 feet apart from other Dog Park users. This is most important when you are entering or leaving the park. Also be aware of common surfaces ...such as the latches on the gates, poop bag dispensers, and hoses. Keeping your hands washed is the best defense against transmission. Use hand sanitizer if you can, but beware that it can be toxic for dogs so keep a good eye on it. You will also see changes to the park. For now there will be no chairs or pools or water tubs as these encourage lots of cross contamination of common surfaces. If you want to bring in a portable chair for yourself that will be allowed, but any pools or water tubs will be removed and disposed of. The hoses will be left in place, but be responsible with your use of water. The park has been closed for 2 months to help get it in good shape. Don't allow an unattended hose to create a new mud pit the first week back. There will also be no common toys. Please take home any toys that you bring to the park in order to reduce common surfaces. We will be removing any unclaimed toys and throwing them away. Lets all stay safe out there. FORDOG

It sure seems like more than a month ago that we announced the Dog Park would be closed for March. Right now the Dog Park will remain closed until further notice. Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks Department has promised to keep us updated as to when it will be opened so please keep an eye on this space.

Just a reminder. The Dog Park will be closed for the month of March for annual maintenance. This includes aeration, seeding, sprinkler and irrigation maintenance, and other projects. We will try to give updates at this space so you don't have to sit outside the fence and, literally, watch the grass grow. The Dog Park is scheduled to open on April 1. The dog park is scheduled to be closed for the month of March (starting March 1) for annual maintenance. During that time the Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks Department will be aerating, fertilizing, and re-seeding the entire park so that it is as green as possible for the busy summer months. This will also give the Department time to address many of the irrigation and sprinkler problems in the Dog Park. We will try to give updates on what is being done and a precise date for re-opening so keep watching this space. See you April 1!
