Happy Mother’s Day to our therapy dog moms who have raised us, instilled such good habits early on, socialized and exposed us to different people and situations, endured canine good citizen training and helped us pass the test, while being committed to making sure we remain well-mannered, well-loved and well-groomed so we can give back to those who need our love and encouragement. Oh yes, and most importantly thanks for providing us with an endless supply of yummy treats. Bark twice for mom’s of therapy dogs! We love you!
Hello, it's Winnie again. I bet you never thought about being a therapy pet and having to be clean and well-groomed for every visit. When you live at the beach, it's tough. Mom tries so hard to keep us clean, but my brother Rocket and I enjoy playing in the sand and swimming in the waves. We keep telling her that dogs will be dogs (or so I've heard) and we just can't help it. But when our hair gets too long and we look more like sheep than poodles, it's time to call on our groomer to save the day. Thanks to Tina for getting us ready to return to work again. Now we're all dressed up with nowhere to go. But I don't mind, it's great to be rid of that heavy winter coat, especially since a heat wave is expected this week. Until we meet again, stay cool my friends. We will look for you at the beach.
A day in the life of two therapy pets who can't do regular site visits. What are the rest of you doing when you feel stir crazy? We like playing in the poppy fields. Social distancing of course.
Welcome to the new LOAL Ventura Facebook page. I'm Winnie the Pooh, a Love on a Leash (LOAL) certified therapy dog who enjoys volunteering with my handler and fellow teammates at site locations across West Ventura County. That is, when our community is not in the midst of fighting a major pandemic. Right now, our LOAL teams are staying at home and all site visits have been temporarily suspended, but it's been a good time to expand our social media reach. In the meantime, I've... been taking lots of walks, resting up, and dreaming about getting back to my volunteer work bringing love, joy and comfort to the people of Ventura. It can be tough work, but I love it and am really good at making people happy, just like my buddies on the LOAL teams. I hope you'll take the time to get to know us, and check back often to learn more about LOAL and the exciting things we do in West Ventura County. See more
