HBCSD is excited to welcome students back to our campuses on Monday, October 26, 2020 for elementary school students and on Monday, November 2, 2020 for middle ...school students. Earlier today, the district released a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document on the district website (www.hbcsd.k12.ca.us) that covers COVID-19 Health Guidelines, Practices, and Responsibilities to help families prepare for the safe return to schools. In the "Health Practices" section, the district provides an update to the student face mask policy. The CDC advises that the use of face masks, when worn properly, has proven to be the best practice to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. As such, it is mandatory that all HBCSD students, in all grade levels (TK - 8th), wear a face mask while on campus during in-person learning. Grab and Go Meal Service during Phase 2 (Effective 10/26/20) HBCSD provides FREE cold meals to all children 18 and under and will operate three different pick up locations at the start of Phase 2 on Monday, October 26, 2020. Dear HBCSD Parents, You are invited to upcoming two parent education sessions to assist you in supporting your child during these unprecedented times. There are several options to attend. Additionally, the sessions will be recorded and available to you for future reference. The first parent education session is called "Canvas for Parents." It is a live session providing an overview for parents on how to navigate Canvas to support your child. This will be held on October... 21, 2020 at 8:00am-8:45am OR 4:00pm-4:45pm. The second parent education session is called "What is Mental Health?" It is a live session providing an overview of mental health and strategies for coping with everyday stressors. There are two different days offered with both an English session and a Spanish session.
