Dibs is not exactly sure if he likes coffee or not
These are hilarious
Many of us know the sorrow of losing a beloved pet. Dogs have been domesticated for the millennia. Rudyard Kipling wrote about this pain and questioned giving your heart to a beloved pet. I think the answer is we all know the inevitabilities but the benefits gain by a relationship with a pet far outweigh the unchangeable facts of life. The Power of the Dog... Rudyard Kipling - 1865-1936 There is sorrow enough in the natural way From men and women to fill our day; And when we are certain of sorrow in store, Why do we always arrange for more? Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware Of giving your heart to a dog to tear. Buy a pup and your money will buy Love unflinching that cannot lie Perfect passion and worship fed By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head. Nevertheless it is hardly fair To risk your heart for a dog to tear. When the fourteen years which Nature permits Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits, And the vet’s unspoken prescription runs To lethal chambers or loaded guns, Then you will findit’s your own affair But you’ve given your heart to a dog to tear. When the body that lived at your single will, With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!). When the spirit that answered your every mood Is gonewherever it goesfor good, You will discover how much you care, And will give your heart to a dog to tear. We’ve sorrow enough in the natural way, When it comes to burying Christian clay. Our loves are not given, but only lent, At compound interest of cent per cent. Though it is not always the case, I believe, That the longer we’ve kept ’em, the more do we grieve: For, when debts are payable, right or wrong, A short-time loan is as bad as a long So why inHeaven (before we are there) Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear? This poem is in the public domain.
Let's see how good you are cat-math.
2:45 AM Somewhere in the Caribbean... One of the Dogs is going nuts with the get-up, get-up, get-up there is an intruder in the house bark. I get up.... and g...o see if I need to Kung-Foo (or negotiate?!) with anyone who thinks coming into my house in the middle of the night is a good idea. Naturally I don’t have my glasses on so everything is a bit blurry.... What do I find??? a Giant (GIANT) (about 24 give or take or maybe 6) one of these in full battle stance - on my living room floor. I’m guessing that I don’t really want to find out if that large claw hurts if it clamps on your early morning toe... 3:00 AM Solution: open all the doors - let all the cats in - and may the best species win... Next: Check Facebook posts, hydrate and back to bed... All is well...

Yesterday the girls and I had the opportunity to participate in something very special and wonderful. We assisted in helping on a day when 74 rescued and adopte...d dogs and cat were loaded on a private charter plane in the DR bound for their new homes in Canada. This unique event was called Hounds to Homes. The DCDR (Dogs and Cats of the Dominican Republic) regularly, rescues, fixes, and finds forever homes for thousands of the dogs on the island. Often they get adopted in the United States and Canada. They typically travel to their new homes with a companion on commercial flights. During these Covid-times there (of course) hasn’t been regular flights so the there was a back up in adopted creatures waiting to go to their new home. Several of the DCDR team came up with an innovative plan to keep forward momentum in spite of these trying times. The volunteers of the DCDR worked tirelessly to arrange this special flight and raise the money necessary to make it happen. The flight (a Falcon private jet charter) came in loaded with donations of crates, collars, medicine and other necessities for daily operations of the rescue. It was quite a task to get these dogs and cats, through customs, safely loaded on the plane and bound for Canada. The volunteers were amazing and worked like a well oiled machine in taking great care of these loving creatures that get to go to be with their new families. The plane was air conditioned and they all made it safely to their destination. We are producing a video of the event that will be available soon (I’ll share a link when it’s edited). Stay tuned so you can see what and incredible organization this is what an amazing event they pulled off. Although we played a very small part I felt very proud of this group of people. I have to admit I got a little teary-eyed when the last few were loaded and the jet engines fired up to take them home..

Who’s having too much fun???
Dogs learn best when there are little to no distractions around, so be sure to start your training sessions in a quiet room where there is not much going on. On...ce your dog is able to perform the behavior in the quiet room, build from there and gradually start asking your dog to perform the behavior in a noisier room. Then, progress to the yard, a busy street, the dog park and so forth. If you start on a busy street or at the dog park right away, your dog may not respond because you have not yet built a foundation for the behavior. Check out the brain training for Dogs program. It’s great for eliminating any bad behaviors by tapping into your dog’s hidden intelligence. Click here to take a quiz to see what is the right program for your dog: https://doglovers.fit/

This is Eclipse. Every day she leaves her house, by herself, and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and ...making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again. She even has her own bus pass attached to the collar. It started when her owner, Jeff Young, was taking too long when the bus arrived, so she impatiently ran ahead and got on the bus by herself. The bus driver recognized her and dropped her off at the dog park, and later Jeff caught up with her. After several more trips by herself, Jeff started letting her go on her own, and she always comes back home a couple of hours later. All of the bus drivers know her and she makes them smile, and many of the regular passengers enjoy seeing her every day and will often sit down next to her. Even the police have given their approval as long as the bus drivers are okay with the arrangement. "She makes everybody happy."
If you need something uplifting today, this is for you. This dog spent seven years in a shelter as not one person considered adopting her. Until the day a kind soul found her and changed everything.
This story never gets old
