Their new study has shown that humans who use slow-blinking, eye-narrowing facial expressions that mimic a "cat smile" appear friendlier and more attractive to their feline companions. We'll admit it. We entered uncharted territory when we launched a virtual version of our annual Pet Fair. Coordinating animals from fifty-eight shelters and rescues, and finding a way to still give back to our shelter and rescue partners took a little imagination, but we are thrilled with the results. The month-long virtual Pet Fair resulted in 2,989 adoptions, including dogs, cats, birds, and more! Pet Food Express donated $25 to the shelters for every eligible adoption, tot...aling $74,725. There's no question we hope to see you in person next year, but for the 2,989 newly adopted pets, and their new pet parents, there’s nothing virtual about the difference this event has made. I think we can all agree, happiness is a warm dog. Meet Bolt! This handsome, goofy and playful boy is available for adoption through Rocket Dog Rescue. Bolt is about 1 year old, 47 pounds Husky mix looking for his forever family. He is a big sweetheart with a lot of love to give. ... Bolt is deaf but is super smart! He knows hand signals for sit and down and recently learned that a gentle double touch on a side of his body means look at me. Bolt is really treats motivated and is eager to learn more basic obedience manners to guide him in good doggie manners. He is a super energetic and sweet boy who loves people and their attention. He gives sweet kisses on the first date and rolls onto his back for belly rubs. He did well with all dogs we introduced him to and loves his doggie play dates. Bolt definitely shows typical husky mischief and should be considered a bit of an escape artist. He would do well with someone who likes to run, jog or hike.
