Consumer Rights Advocate and Attorney Butch Wagner answers your questions about PG&E's bankruptcy exit plan. Q. If I am dissatisfied with my attorney because I feel that they are not acting in my best interest, can I change attorneys at this point? A. Yes. A client may fire their attorney at any time and hire a new attorney.... Q. If I change attorneys at this time, will get results and any harm to my case or cost me any more money? A. Changing attorneys at this point of time in this case will not result in any harm or damage to your case. It is also also highly unlikely that changing attorneys will cost you any money and will likely save you money in attorney fees, which is something I guarantee my clients.
Attorney Butch Wagner believes that PG&E can and should do better by you. Here he is answering some common questions regarding the PG&E bankruptcy exit plan: Q. Under the current bankruptcy plan, by which date will wild fire victims be paid? A. There is NO date set forth in the current plan by which wild fire victims will be paid.... Q. How much will wildfire victims be paid? A. There is nothing set forth in the current bankruptcy plan that determines how much wildfire victims will be paid nor how wildfire victim’s claims will be evaluated.
Attorney Butch Wagner was asked to offer some clarification on the ongoing vote to reject or approve PG&E's bankruptcy exit plan. Here is what he had to say: Q. Will a ‘No’ vote on the plan delay payment to the wild fire victims? A. In all likelihood, a ‘NO’ vote will result in a better and quicker payment to wild fire victims. The current plan offers NO date by which wildfire victims will be paid. The current plan does NOT set forth any process by which wildfire victims will... have their claims evaluated or resolved. Half of the money in the victims settlement trust is NOT guaranteed. If the Bankruptcy Plan is rejected, the bankruptcy judge in all likelihood will send the parties back to renegotiate the deal. At that time, the tort committee members and their attorneys who negotiated this awful plan should be replaced with more competent people who are not overly fixated on the amount of attorney fees that they have at stake.
Wagner Law Group is here for our Camp Fire clients in Northern California. We want you to know that while everyone is preparing for the vote on PG&E's bankruptcy exit plan, the attorneys at Wagner Law Group feel that PG&E can and should do better by you. There is a lot of misinformation spreading about why claimants should vote to approve PG&E's plan, but little is known about whether the 13.5 billion will be enough money to cover the costs of these claims, the value of the stock that is being substituted for cash, or whether FEMA will have access to these funds alongside survivors. Wagner Law Group feels that you should be represented by a firm that isn't afraid to stand up to large corporations, demanding that they do right by you - even if it means voting NO in the meantime.
