******Update on my email to Governor Newsome**** I was connected to his local liason on Friday. In that email I detailed the timeline and hurdles which we encountered. I also reached out to local Senator Richard Roth and his liason reached out to me on Monday to find out what was going on. Invited me to a call this Saturday. Out of the clear blue sky we were approved and received our 1st batch of the Moderna vaccine. Thank you for your emails and expressions of concern. My work is not over because we were one of very few clinics to actually get the vaccine. My name is Belinda Addo and I am a Nurse Practitioner, Provider for an Urgent/Family Practice clinic in Perris. We have been seeing and treating patients from the inception of this pandemic. We have saved and lost several lives. This pandemic has ravaged our community. We are in the 3rd month of 2021 and up to date we have been awaiting our vaccination orders to administer to our community. I want to express my utter frustration and disdain for how my community has been prior...itized and treated. The focus of vaccine distribution has been on mass sites and small local clinics have been put on the back burner. We have placed and awaited orders only for them to disappear from our profile. This has been a complete nightmare as my community members are unable to get mass sites due to transportation, technical challenges or language issues. You have failed us and as a result I have failed my community. As a public service provider I take my role very seriously. I will not fail my community. I will diligently reach out to anyone who can assist us with this matter. This process has been a complete trainwreck from start to finish.It demonstrates health disparities on the highest level and lack of understanding on how to roll out vaccines in an efficient manner. I need to speak with someone about this issue who can give concrete and real time responses.
