With July 4th coming up we remind you to please don't keep any fireworks stored in your cars. The heat from an enclosed car could set your fireworks off and that's no bueno. Always keep them in a nice cool place for the best holiday celebration.

Sometimes we have to check under the hood. We also have to be careful of how we close it. We don't want to leave dents by pressing down on a stubborn latch. We have all learned that it's not good to slam doors but in the case of our hoods it's necessary. Dropping your hood closed from about a foot or so allows enough force to get the hood closed without leaving dents from your hands pressing down. Always makes sure you remove any and all items before closing your hood. Ie tools, flashlights, keys, donuts, etc.

Although this post is a day late, we acknowledge the 50th anniversary of a great American Icon. On April 17, 1964 the first Ford Mustang rolled off the line. Here's a little history curtsy of Wikipedia: The Ford Mustang is an automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car.Introduced early on April 17, 1964, and thus dubbed as a "1964" model by Mustang fans, the 1965 ...Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A. The Mustang has undergone several transformations to its current fifth generation. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobiles. Sports car-like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks and gave rise to competitors such as the Chevrolet Camaro, and Pontiac Firebird, AMC Javelin, as well as Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda and the first generation Dodge Challenger. The Mustang is also credited for inspiring the designs of coupés such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were imported to the United States.

To apply paint properly to a surface the area that is to be painted needs to be prepped correctly. If you are painting the whole car this means to remove everything that can be removed from the car in order to make sure the paint gets into all the little tiny spots you wouldn't otherwise be able to get to if those pieces were removed. While yes it can be quicker just to tape the parts you don't want painted like moldings and emblems, you leave your paint job open to paint lin...es that occur when these items are not removed. Sometimes these lines are not too noticeable but for the best quality work both taping and removing of parts is necessary. Places that offer cheap paint jobs don't do all the prep work necessary for quality paint jobs. We make sure each panel gets painted properly before presenting you with the final product. You can be sure your car fix the right way the first time. No Micky Mouse short cuts here.

Know your rights: Under the California Insurance Code, a consumer is not required to have repairs done at any insurance company recommended automobile repair shop. However, if a consumer does use an insurance company recommended repair shop, the insurance company must stand behind the repairs if your vehicle is not repaired properly. (1) You have the right to choose where you take your car for automobile repairs.... (2) If an insurance company recommends a particular automobile body shop you have the option to either take it there or take it to another automobile body repair shop of your choice. What this means is if you have been involved in an accident you have the RIGHT to take your car to whatever repair facility of your choosing regardless of what your insurance says. Keep in mind your insurance does not guarantee the work done at the repair facility, that is the responsibility of the shop of choice.
