GEORGE FLOYD Today marks the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police in Minnesota. While former police officer Derek Chauvin has been held accountable for the murder when the court found him guilty last month, the heartache of the loss of George Floyd endures. George Floyd’s murder served as a breaking point for many in our country and the resulting hurt, anger, and fear spurred rallies, protests, and marches throughout the world. It’...s searingly painful to have witnessed even more Black lives taken from us throughout the year following George Floyd’s death. The fight is far from over. As an organization that employs and serves many BIPOC in Los Angeles County, we will continue to speak out in opposition of the violence against the Black community, and racism at large in all its forms.
