Happy Holidays, from all of us at PenEndo Mountain View! Usually we plan some kind of fun, after hours event or outing for our Christmas party (like a San Jose Sharks game) and include everybody's immediate families. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year our only option was this socially distanced, outdoor, staff-only Christmas luncheon. We ordered take out from an upscale Italian restaurant and set up a picnic table outside. Pictured from left to right is Dr. Beddawi, Genia, Itzel, Anna, Debbie, Gladys, Laura and Dr. Shih.

Remembering your deceased loved ones by wearing their teeth? Whatever floats your boat, but that would be a resounding "no" if you ask me. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1816618721818166&id=618168988329818

Dear patients, esteemed colleagues and friends, Welcome to the second half of 2020. It goes without saying that the first half has been a challenge for all of us, and we hope this post finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. Starting today, Wednesday July 1st, our office will be returning to our regular office hours schedule of Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, and offering a full scope of endodontic treatment options. For after hours emergencies, an on call doctor can a...lways be reached 24/7 by calling (650) 964-1300 and following the prompts. As mandated by the CDC, OSHA, and Santa Clara Department of Health, a plethora of new strict guidelines have been implemented in our office to protect the health and well being of patients, doctors and staff alike. All persons entering our office will be required to wear a mask, and hand sanitizing dispensers are in place throughout the office. Patient appointments will be spread out to minimize the risk of incoming and outgoing patients crossing paths, and social distancing protocols will be strictly enforced. Sneeze guard protective barriers have been installed on both the waiting room and hallway sides of the front reception area. Doctors, office staff and each patient's body temperature will be taken with a no-contact device, and anyone registering above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, or who has a cough and/or shortness of breath will be asked to seek immediate medical attention. All patients will be asked to rinse their mouth with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution prior to their consultation and oral examination, each tooth undergoing treatment will be pre-scrubbed with isopropyl alcohol, and every effort will be made to minimize the creation of aerosols during all procedures, including the use of rubber dams and high speed evacuation. All doctors and staff will utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, N95 masks, eye protection, face shields, head covering, and protective gowns. After every procedure, the operatory will be thoroughly cleaned and fogged with antimicrobial spray and allowed to settle for a minimum of 60 minutes. All of our doctors and staff have undergone extensive training with the health and safety of everyone who comes into our office as our number one priority. Our office has been certified "COVID-19 Prepared" by the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health. We hope that you have found this update informative and useful, and we look forward to going back to what we do best, which is to take care of and render the highest standard of care to our patients who trust us with their endodontic needs. Respectively yours, Dr. Shih, Dr. Beddawi and the entire PenEndo Mountain View staff

Dear patients, esteemed colleagues and friends, We hope this post finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. After a tumultuous two and a half months amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Santa Clara County Public Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody has officially given dental offices the green light to reopen, albeit under a plethora of new strict guidelines implemented to protect the health and well being of patients, doctors and staff alike. We are currently open for office ...hours Monday to Friday from 10am-3pm, with the goal of returning to our normal 8am-5pm schedule in the near future and offering a full scope of endodontic treatment options. Doctors, office staff and each patient's body temperature will be taken with a no-contact device, and anyone registering above 100.4 degrees, or who has a cough and/or shortness of breath will be asked to seek immediate medical attention. After every procedure, the operatory will be thoroughly cleaned and fogged with antimicrobial spray and allowed to settle for a minimum of 60 minutes. All of our doctors and staff have undergone extensive training with the health and safety of everyone who comes into our office as our number one priority. As seen in the photo below, our office has been certified "COVID-19 Prepared" by the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health. We hope that you have found this update informative and useful, and we look forward to going back to what we do best, which is to take care of and render the highest standard of care to our patients who trust us with their endodontic needs. Dear patients, esteemed colleagues and friends, As we navigate through the current COVID-19 pandemic, here is an update on our hours of operation and changes we have implemented. Our office will be open with truncated office hours (Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm), and will be available to treat patients with true dental emergencies of endodontic origin only. This new schedule and policy is currently in effect through the end of May 2020, and we will re-assess at the end of the... month as to whether any changes will be appropriate for June and beyond. We are cautiously optimistic that over the course of the next few weeks, positive mandates from local, state and national agencies may allow more of our fellow colleagues in the dental profession to open their offices to treat both urgent and non-urgent dental needs. As always, for after hours emergencies, an on call doctor can be reached through our answering service by calling the regular office number and following the prompts. Alternatively, a doctor can be reached by virtual online consultation by clicking on the following link: Dr. Shih: https://doxy.me/drkshih Dr. Beddawi: https://doxy.me/drbeddawi Patients who have a fever or cough, or who may have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, will be respectfully requested to seek diagnostics and appropriate medical attention first before scheduling with us. For the time being, patients with non-essential endodontic needs, and those in need of standard endodontic procedures but are not currently in pain or have an active infection, we will be happy to tentatively schedule them in June or later. Our office has been equipped with clear barriers separating the reception area from the waiting room and hallway area. In addition, all patients will be asked to have their temperature taken and recorded with a no-contact device. Upon entering the examination room, each patient will be asked to rinse their mouth with a 1.5% bydrogen peroxide solution to initially reduce any bacterial or viral load. Every effort will be made to minimize the amount of aerosol created during any procedure. And finally, strict guidelines will be followed regarding frequent hand washing, complete disinfecting of each operatory between patients, the use of appropriate PPE and changing of soiled gowns and outerwear between patients. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to stay home and shelter in place as much as possible, practice safe social distancing and wear protective devices when you do have to go out in public, and most importantly, stay safe and healthy until we can flatten the curve and work our way out of this global pandemic. We are all in this together, and with a great collaborative effort, perseverance and will power, we will get out of it together. Respectively yours, Dr. Shih, Dr. Beddawi and the entire PenEndo Mountain View staff
