Located near Mishka’s Café and the Varsity Theatre, the Dresbach-Hunt-Boyer Mansion Plaza will be receiving a makeover later this year. Davis-based artist Susan Shelton produced this incredible 7-foot diameter bronze seal that will become the centerpiece, telling stories about the history of Davis. We are happy to sponsor and be associated with this project, which will be installed right down the street from us! It is difficult to put into words the captivating effect and experience of Chris Daubert's artwork - the integration of light and darkness generates a new atmosphere for his pieces that can only be felt in person. Make sure to come see "Spiral" and more of Chris' work in his show, "Firewood: An Installation."
In our latest video, join artist Roma Devanbu as she discusses her design and process for "Our Garden", a public art project installed in July 2020 in the Pence Gallery courtyard. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors, the City of Davis Arts & Cultural Affairs and Bonnie & Kit Lam, for supporting this project.
The holiday season brings with it a new wonderful exhibit, "Feast of Florals", with artwork by Sylvia Schaefer. Her oil paintings feature florals and bonsai trees, executed in a bold brush style and vibrant colors. Sylvia’s work was inspired by the natural world and its vast amount of variations in designs, colors, and textures. Her show will be on display in the upstairs gallery November 6-29!
