Today we end our November with our last staff spotlight Jamat Suryan, M.Ed Perinatal Navigator, CLEC, CBE. Enjoy her beautiful photos and a little about her below! What is your personal philosophy? My philosophy in life, and in work, is to treat others with respect at all times. It's pretty simple! I approach my participants with kindness; I deliver my work when I say that I will, and I am an active listener... What’s one thing you couldn’t live without? I cannot live without my family, raw honey with my coffee and tea, and Dates Where is your favorite place to be? My favorite place to be is La Jolla shores. I love to walk on the sand and I find watching the waves after a busy day to be relaxing. What’s your favorite thing to do? My favorite thing to do is hiking. Being in nature and enjoying the fresh air allows me to destress and clear my mind. In life, I always enjoy challenging myself to reach new heights. Where is the best place you’ve traveled? I have been to many cities around the world but my favorite place I’ve recently traveled to is Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul is a fascinating city built on two Continents (Asia and Europe), divided by the Bosporus Strait. This is one of the greatest cities in the world where you can see a modern city combined with divine historical architecture. it's a melting pot of many civilizations and different people. What’s your favorite thing about Healthy Start? My favorite thing about Healthy Start is the familial atmosphere between staff and participants. I love that as a navigator, I am able to provide support to my community through prenatal education, postpartum, and breastfeed support along with home-based visits for families. The most enjoyable part of Healthy Start is a sense of accomplishment and that positive feeling I get when I am able to be apart of someone’s journey. Tell us about a client interaction that means a lot to you? Every time I visit one particular family, their enrolled child always recognizes me. Since he was 5 months, he would play and interact with me. He is now 1 year’s old and he is always very excited to see me. It was amazing to be a part of someone’s life and growth. It makes me feel as if I am a part of the family.

Posted @withregram @the.mommy.psychologist Hi, I’m Dr. Sandra! Follow @the.mommy.psychologist for more posts on moms mental health. . There are no boxes ...that need to be checked off in order to qualify for the role of an amazing mother. You just are one! Regardless of your experiences or how you choose to raise your child; You ARE a great mother. It doesn’t say anything about you if you’ve had a c-section vs. a vaginal birth, if you work or are a stay-at-home mom, if you breastfeed or bottle feed, if you bonded with your baby immediately or if it took some time, or if you struggle with a mental illness. YOU. ARE. STILL. AN. AMAZING. MOM! . Let’s stop with the mom judging, the unsolicited advice, and the passive-aggressive comments. Truth is, we ALL need emotional support throughout this journey, so let’s start supporting and encouraging one another instead. . . . . Please and help reduce the stigma surrounding maternal mental health Reading and/or responding to this post does not indicate that a professional or therapeutic relationship has been established. In remembrance of all the families who have experienced a loss of a child, we see you. While today is just one day of awareness, we understand this loss stays with you every day. Here at PCI, we share our condolences with all families and hope that if you have a friend or family member who shares this experience to reach out and check-in with them. Show awareness by lighting a candle at 7pm to continue that wave of light! We're lighting our candles for you... "Pregnancy and I...nfant Loss Remembrance Day (PAILRD) is an annual remembrance day that is observed in the United States and Canada on October 15.
