Next Door for Business! ..this will be 'a thing' in the coming months. Getting hyperbolically local is where the 'local' is going. I feel that getting neighborhood local is the next step for small business that caters to a small georadius. I feel the potential client or customer would rather use a small business, landscaper, roofer, carpet layer, plumber, pet sitter, insurance guy or girl.. even a marketing company, rather than outside the area if they don't need to. You'll see! #paynemediamarketing #NextDoor #NextDoorBusiness #bestofnextdoor

Oregon Humane Society is taking in pets from the Houston disaster. Get Involved - https://www.oregonhumane.org/get-involved/ #OregonHumane #HurricaneHarvey... TODAY'S NEWS: Dogs evacuated from shelters in Texas arrived yesterday at OHS to find new homes. Back in Houston, an OHS disaster team finished its first day of work Friday at a shelter that is bracing to receive more pets from areas hit by Hurricane Harvey. Boots, Rescued from Texas The dogs received by OHS yesterday will help Texas shelters free up space so that they can cope with the expected surge of displaced pets The dogs came from outside the disaster zone and arrived on a Wings of Rescue flight. They included Boots, a two-month old puppy (pictured), Talyia, a young terrier mix recovering after being hit by a car, and others. Every kennel space that we can free up in Texas gives those local shelters another space to care for a pet who has been lost or injured in the storm, said Sharon Harmon, OHS president and CEO. On the ground in Houston, a four-person response team from OHS completed its first day of work, helping to care for kittens, cats, dogs and wildlife stranded by the flood. They also helped to make room for more rescued dogs by transferring adoptable pets to other shelters outside the danger zone (see photos and learn about their work here). OHS receives no tax dollars for its rescue work and relies on donations to support all of its life-saving programs. Donate today.
