Thank you International Documentary Association's Documentary magazine and Laura Wissop for sharing the story of the delightful brothers in Los Hermanos/The Bro...thers, Aldo Lopez Gavilan and Ilmar Gavilan. We've been so busy with First Run Features' release of our film this month, I'm just seeing this lovely piece now. We share with Ilmar the wish that this story (and this music!) can create an opening for a different kind of conversation about #Cuba and #border closures in general. And, we are so happy to be working with the Sphinx Organization, El Sistema USA, and the @Harlem Quartet, to expand our ideas about what is considered classical music, an who gets to play it.
