Meet Tony Wallace, owner of Paso Robles Physical Therapy! Tony Wallace, PT, owner of PRPT and director of PRPT Atascadero, was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from Long Beach State with a degree in physical therapy in 1980. After starting his career at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, he decided to transplant to the California Central Coast in 1982. Bringing his wife and two boys, he settled in Atascadero and went to work at Twin Cities Hospital. He and L...isa added two more boys along the way and love living on the Central Coast. The boys are grown and now there are grandsons to enjoy! After directing another private PT office in Paso Robles for 13 years, he decided to strike out on his own. The result is Paso Robles Physical Therapy. Tony has had extensive experience in treating all manner of orthopedic difficulties over the years. "I love it all. Everyone is unique and every problem offers a unique challenge for recovery". Of particular interest is acute and recurrent back and neck pain conditions. Tony has stayed on the leading edge of out-patient rehabilitation through continuing education courses and journal reading as well as an ongoing dialogue with the staff of PRPT. The environment in the clinic is fun and challenging. "I think of PRPT as a family. We love working together." In 2018 Tony moved PRPT headquarters closer to home in Atascadero, while keeping 2 satellite clinics in Paso Robles; at the Paso Robles Sports Club and Lake Nacimiento. As a clinic we are thrilled to offer our comprehensive rehab services to the entire North County.

Our Orthopedics program is the heart of Paso Robles Physical Therapy. Directed by Anthony Wallace PT, our Orthopedic Rehabilitation program was founded with the mission to provide one-on-one treatment to patients, giving them personalized care and direction for entirity of their time with us. Our joint care program has helped everyone from retirees who have had joint replacement surgery to athletes with knee (ACL), shoulder (rotator cuff ), elbow and ankle injuries and working people. Our physical therapists emphasize one-on-one treatment to assist each patient according to the nature of their pain and specific injury. Their treatments include: Patient education with a focus on home exercise programs for mobility, strengthening, stabilization and protective body mechanics to restore function and help avoid future injury. Sacroiliac joint dysfunction assessment and mobilization/stabilization to address low back and pelvis-related pain. Strain-counterstrain and soft tissue mobilization designed to greatly reduce muscle pain. Why Telehealth? This is a very unprecedented time in the history of our nation and of course has had far reaching effects on all aspects of society. The healthcare industry of course has been affected severely, but not just those providers on the front lines of COVID 19 treatment, but all healthcare providers have seen a marked change in our day to day treatment of patients.Because of the reticence to have a face to face meeting with a therapist, some patients are choosing t...o utilize the telehealth platform for physical therapy intervention. Telehealth is a true patient visit performed over the internet over a wide variety of audio-visual platforms. Paso Robles Physical Therapy uses Zoom as our Telehealth platform. It must be audio and visual to be a true telehealth visit. Because it is treated as a normal visit, it is billed as such to the insurance company. This is a valid substitute for an in person visit, though obviously there are marked limitations in regards to physical therapy interventions as there is no hands on treatment being done. Currently telehealth for PT is paid for by most insurance companies, including Medicare and most of our contracted third party insurance providers. Therefore, we are able to serve almost all of our current patients with this convenient technology for treatment. If you feel that you would like a telehealth visit feel free to call the staff of Paso Robles Physical Therapy and we would be happy to discuss this with you. We are trying to navigate through this unusual time and continue to provide quality care for our patients. Hoping the best for all of us.
