In the spirit of the #Halloween season, day 17 of History of the Batman's #Inktober goes to illustrator Kelley Jones: As highlighted in our curr...ent history session The Triumphant Dark Knight: Batman in the 1990s, Jones is known for his Batman runs in the 90s with writer Doug Moench and has worked on several non-continuity Batman series including "Batman: Dark Joker the Wild" and the Vampire Batman Elseworlds saga beginning with "Batman and Dracula: Red Rain". Both of these comics were very dark and moody, bringing the Caped Crusader comic into the horror genre. Jones drew the covers for many of the chapters of the "Batman: Knightfall" crossover storyline as well, then became the penciler of Batman beginning with issue 515 (1995 - 1998) and worked on such story arcs as "Contagion". His latest Batman projects included illustrating on Scott Peterson’s limited series Batman: Kings of Fear. Going for style and mood over realism, Jones' is known for drawing Batman's ears incredibly long, giving him a demonic look and truly bringing the fear to the character's aesthetic that the Dark Knight himself strikes into the hearts of criminals. Tomorrow the Toy Fest Swap Meet event Saturday in Glendale. This toy, comic book, and pop culture centered outdoor swap meet will take place Saturday October 17th, 2020 at the Glendale Elks Lodge parking lot 120 E Colorado St, Glendale, CA 91205-1628 from 9am-2pm with free general admission. Early Bird is 8am-9am for $5. Entry is FREE to the public and the venue boasts free limited parking. A food truck will be on site and snacks are available for purchase. Face masks are required from vendors and attendees, and sanitizer is provided. All social distancing guidelines will be in effect.
