Since its inception in May 2020 the Donna Helsley Food Fund has brought food to 398 low-income seniors and connected them to food resources and reduced social isolation over the holidays. While the fund was initially designed as a temporary program in response to the pandemic, the need was significant and the program so popular that it has become a permanent program. Today is #LongBeachGives! We are excited to raise funds for our Youth Scholarship Program which allows Long Beach Youth ages 5-18 who receive free or reduced price lunch to attend Parks and Rec classes for free up to $150/yr. Think low-income families, single parents, elderly caregivers and foster families. These are the individuals who benefit from our program. This is our second year participating in #LongBeachGives, our community’s 24-hour day of giving.
