How can students equally participate in what some are calling distance/remote learning? Muting Students during instruction as a digital rule seems necessary, but checking in for engagement and understanding is muted too. How do we know what students are actually learning as School’s try to figure out this learning prototype?

This will sweep the Country. Advocates and Families will not stand for the abandonment of Special Education Students that have federally mandated contracts, ie..IEP services and programs.

Parents & Schools......Questions...To Re-Opening There is no way in hell kids are going to keep masks on! Nor is there a health plan to speak of cleaning school surfaces, temp checks, how often will schools deep clean and what happens when one gets the virus from school? Who will be informed, how and what will be the timeline to let those exposed know-Teachers, Students Families etc. Will door handles be cleaned? How often will each individual be required to wash their hands?... When people blow their nose what is the protocol? What will eating look like? What will busing and transportation look like?will each kid have their own laptop that is cleaned daily? What happens if kids refuse to follow the rules? What about the special needs population or those with medical underlying issues. We district’s sanitize manipulative, calculators and shared items. If so how and again how No effective measures are being suggested. Staying physically distant when indoors is going to make it hard at the schools. What about the cleaning of vent systems and carpeted surfaces? The curve was flattening when all were required to stay home unfortunately. School is important, but safety is priority. The questions is not whether we go to school it is how and when? No one on this earth would find it safe to go school during such a surge of the virus, but we know our students and their families need the reopening to happen with assurances of a strong health plan in place. Perhaps Lastly, Parents want to know if their school district had any cases of the virus prior to leaving school, what is the tracking system, if so do we as citizens of our community get to know which school sites? Questions that are just a few as there are plenty more questions out there, without answers. #PartnersInEducationAdvocacy See more
