This old picture was shared on a public California History Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/CalHistory/permalink/1335569599987154/ Guy Span, who posted the pic, added these notes, "Park Hall in Ben Lomond, CA opened in 1923 as a community stage and at some point became a movie theater, proudly noted for its hard seats. Our unnamed hero is riding his motorcycle across from the theater with the Wagon Wheel Tavern pictured in the background. Early postwar (II) fr...om a found negative. The Park Hall is still standing and is now back in use as a community theater. There appears small mention of the former hard seating. There is no evidence the Wagon Wheel survived." Park Hall has comfortable, padded seats these days, and looks forward to welcoming back theater groups and their audiences as well as other renters after the pandemic. [Update - Park Hall has found a janitor! Thanks for the calls and referrals!] Hi Neighbors, Park Hall is seeking an occasional/ part time janitor. We have an immediate need (4-8 hrs/ week though July) for help sanitizing while LPRT is using the building, and then hours will be minimal until large gatherings at the hall increase after covid 19 restrictions are lifted.
