Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with rates for the week ending June 3: 30-year fixed-rate mortgages: averaged 2.99%, with an average 0.6 point, up from last week’s 2.95% average. Last year at this time, 30-year rates averaged 3.18%. 15-year fixed-rate mortgages: averaged 2.27%, with an average 0.6 point, unchanged from last week. A year ago, 15-year rates averaged 2.62%.... 5-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages: averaged 2.64%, with an average 0.2 point, up from last week’s 2.59% average. Thirty-nine percent of 1,000 employees recently surveyed nationwide said they would consider leaving their jobs if their bosses aren’t flexible about remote work or working from home, according to a poll from Morning Consult, commissioned by Bloomberg. Younger workers were the least likely to want to return in person, according to the survey. Forty-nine percent of millennial and Generation Z workers felt the strongest on the topic. A survey conducted last month by realtor.com... of nearly 4,000 U.S. adults showed that almost 60% of new homeowners who purchased in the last 12 months are working from home, and 62% prefer to continue working remotely. Between 2018 and 2028, the number of households is projected to increase by up to 12 million. Generation X and millennials are expected to drive most of that household formation. As they replace dropped households over that time, the two generations could add nearly 25 million new households by 2028, according to the CoreLogic Insights Blog. Here’s how existing-home sales fared across the country in November: Northeast: Existing-home sales dropped 2.2% to an annual rate of 880,000a 25.7% increase compared to a year ago. Median price: $354,100, up 17.4% annually. Midwest: Existing-home sales fell 2.5% to an annual rate of 1.59 million in November. However, that is up 24.2% from a year ago. Median price:$239,100, a 14.6% increase from November 2019.... South: Existing-home sales decreased 3.8% to an annual rate of 2.82 million in November, up 25.9% from the same time last year. Median price: $270,000, a 15% increase from a year ago. West: Existing-home sales held steady last month recording an annual rate of 1.4 million in November, a 27.3% increase from a year ago.
