We had a very busy weekend at the Marysville gun show! Unfortunately the local dealer couldn't be there, so all the transfers were handled by us. All the paperwork has been started and firearms will be available for pickup on the 23rd (some will be available on the 22nd). GUN LAWS just signed by Gov. Brown today - DefenseSHOT.com 1**Banning "bullet buttons" (2) - SB 880/AB 1135 Redefines "assault weapon" to include semi-automatic... firearms that have bullet-buttons. Also requires registration of weapons previously not prohibited under the new definition. Penalty for not reporting lost/stolen gun - SB 894 Requires firearm owners report the theft or loss of a firearm to a local law enforcement agency within five days of the time they knew, or reasonably should have known, that the firearm had been stolen or lost. 2***Large capacity magazines - SB 1446 With certain exemptions (including for retired peace or federal officers) this would prohibit the possession of any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds -- California's definition for large-capacity magazine. 3***Ammunition sale regulations - SB 1235 Requires the state Department of Justice to track information on ammunition sales and vendor license information, which includes a background check. The Assembly floor debate over this bill was contentious because it would amend an initiative by Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom that's already on the November ballot. 4***Rules on lending guns - AB 1511 Makes infrequent gun loans allowed only between family members -- that includes spouses and registered domestic partners, or parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, whether related by blood, adoption or a step-relative.
