Home going Celebration for Teralynn Cantrell
Home going Celebration for IRENE BAILEY- KING
Irene, affectionately known as Mimi, was born on July 23, 1931, to Aurelious Bailey and Ollie M. Tyson-Bailey in Lonoke, Arkansas. As a teenager, she moved with her parents, brothers, and sisters to Pasadena, California. Shortly after coming to California, her youngest brother, Aurelius Bailey Jr. was born. She and her sister-in-law, Armetta Tyson, cared for her ill mother for several years until her auntie Ora Lee could come due to their mother’s death. Irene worked hard for... Pasadena Unified School District and a private home for many years to keep food on the table for her siblings and her children as well as the neighborhood children. She loved to cook and dance and would open her house to anyone who needs a place to stay, no matter how many were in the home. Mimi was very outgoing and outspoken. She would speak her mind if she saw the need to either encourage you or correct you. If you could not appreciate the knowledge and wisdom of her words, it was your loss. Irene was preceded in death by two sisters: Odessa Tyson and Louise Bailey (Peewee). Five brothers: Huley Tyson, Nathaniel Tyson (Pig), David Bailey (Pat), Sonny Boy Bailey, and Aurelius (Radius) Bailey Jr. Her children: Albert, Henry, Terry, fraternal twins Denise and Dennis, Vernon (Butch), Louise (Ollie), Sandra, and grandson, Anthony McClain. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Sheila. Three sons: Wilbur, Kenny, and Michael. Two brothers: Joseph Bailey, Leon (Boot) Bailey. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends.
