"No More Than 5 Looters at a Time" On June 3 my faith in my community was put to the test. And my community came through like a champ! I refuse to live in fear,... because fear is the root of all evil, including racism. Especially racism. If we counter fear with fear then fear wins...love doesn't stand a chance. But if we counter fear with love, love for our community, love for our City, love for our neighbors...then love wins every time... and not just because in the end my windows didn't get busted, and Papalote didn't get ransacked (thank God!), but because at least one member of the community still believed in the good and the integrity of the people who share the same space as me, and I showed that I have a right not to live in fear.
