Palo Alto Golf Club - One of the best kept secrets on the peninsula. We have (2) tournaments a month. One at Baylands GC (Our home course) and one at an away course. This year we will be visiting Blackhorse GC, Coyote Creek Tournament, Del Monte, Poppy Ridge and Corica Park South among others. All of our tournaments are flighted so players of similar abilities match up. We usually have between 40 - 60 participants per event.... We have affordable annual membership rates of $90 for regular (30-59), $85 for Seniors (60+), $50 for Junior Executives (18-29, Best deal around) and $18 for Juniors (<18). Great day at Spring Valley Golf Course!

To All PAGC Tournament Players, In December the Board unanimously approved the use of a pace-of-play policy for all PAGC tournaments: http://www.paloaltogolfclub.org/Policies/policyhome.html The reasons for this can be found in our bylaws which state "objectives shall include ... discouraging slow play as needlessly limiting the enjoyment of the game by fellow golfers".... We feel the 4 hour 40 minute time limit is very generous. For example, in the recent 6-6-6 tournament the lead group completed the round in 4 hours 0 minutes even though the "cart path only" rule was in effect. A good pace of play will help us all enjoy the round more and provide ammunition to ask Baylands for earlier tee times. To help your pace of play please consider playing ready golf, even on the putting green. Remember that Rule 18.2 limits the time to search for a lost ball to 3 minutes. All players are responsible for enforcing this rule to protect the field. If you find your ball after the 3 minute time limit, pick it up. If you play it you will be playing a Wrong Ball (Rule 14.7) and are subject to the general penalty (2 strokes) or possible disqualification. Trevor Heathorn, PAGC President

David Bridgman and Heath Black played the Match Play Championship Match on Sunday at Baylands. David Bridgman took a commanding 5-up lead after 8-holes. But, Heath pulled it together and won 8 consecutive holes, winning the match 3 and 2. David shot a 72 gross in an absolutely stellar second place finish.... Congratulations to both Heath and David on their 2019 Match Play performances.

This weekend is our Directors Cup major championship. Michael Kern got a hole in one on 15th hole... so awesome to see the ball go in. Congratulations to Mike!

Just a few days left to sign up for the Sunnyvale Best 2 of 4 team event!

Only a couple weeks left to sign up for the Sunnyvale team event on September 21! This event is an early tee-time, for all the early birds out there. The format is "Best 2 of 4 Teams" which means that all four players will play their ball on each hole, record their score, and the best two NET scores count as the team's overall score. Since this event is all about fun, we'll also be doing long-drive and closest to the pin competitions.
