Dear friends, I regret to inform you that my and your friend, brother, and executive director of the Palm Springs Orchestra Jeffrey Gilson, has passed away Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2020. The world has lost a true bohemian soul, a soul larger than life. He has a special place in my and our hearts, forever and ever.

Symphonic Poem Fatima by Dino Zonic, Music Director - Palm Springs Orchestra Symphonic Poem Fatima premiered for the special event of the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide performed with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Samra Gulamovic. This piece is about Fatima, the youngest victim of Srebrenica, a child that was born on the night she was killed. She got her name after they identified her in 2012. In this way, we want to symbolically rememb...er her and all victims of Srebrenica during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through the language of art, emotion, and compassion, this event is our role for the future of the generations we hope to live in peace. Thanks to the reporter Vesna Andree-Zaimovic and Radio S...arajevo we are presenting a portion of this article that was published after the New Year's Eve - Gala Concert at the Bosnian National Theater, Sarajevo, December 31, 2018, 7:30 pm. Conductors: Nada Matosevic-Oreskovic, and Dino Zonic. As previously announced, this concert was an opportunity for the first time to hear the orchestral composition Bosnian Rhapsody, by Bosnian composer Dino Zonic. In the framework of orchestral film music, the author in this fifteen-minute orchestral work presents musical reminiscences and the mix of cultural influences that are encountered in our culture. Bosnian Rhapsody, whose premiere was conducted by the author himself was warmly accepted by the audience and it was awarded with a long-standing applause. The evening was enlarged by soloists who cordially and inspirational performed the aural arias: soprano Vedrana Šimi, tenor Amir Saraevi and bass Ivan Šari. The concertmaster of the orchestra, Marina Manukian (Enlightenment concert series) arrived from the US for this occasion, and the American motivational speaker Filippo Voltaggio (Life Changes Show) appeared on the scene as a master of ceremony. New Year's Gala International concert The New Year's Concert celebration is held in cooperation between the Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States, promot...ing the bilateral and cultural relations of the two countries.
