Overcast weather aside, it was a great day for Diving! We had a dozen Pacific Wilderness students out for their PADI certification dives today plus a small group attending our Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest, another dozen Pacific Wilderness fun divers and a nice group from Dive n Surf carving pumpkins as well! Surf was minimal at 1-2 foot and though the surface showed some chop, the Visibility was surprisingly good at 20-25 ft plus. Water temp was about 65 throughout the dive. Pumpkin carvers did a great job as you’ll see from the Photos. Paul took the first place honor with his Dragon themed carving. Alyssa took second with the Lobster theme followed by JD & Nathan with more traditional carvings and Amy for her Trumpkin Great job divers and super day for a Beach Dive!

Pacific Wilderness employees hit Marina Del Rey for some early morning Lobster dives today! Four divers were welcomed with flat seas and a surprisingly great 30 plus foot visibility . We did a couple dives each in 65+ degree water and all four of us limited! Jon got the biggest bug of the day with a male at over 7lbs, Manami struck gold hitting 2 big boys at over 5 lbs each. Yosuke got his biggest ever at 5+ lbs and I had my largest net take at 36 lbs combined for my 7... limit. It was just one of those great days of bugging and definitely a perfect day to take the day off. Thanks Jason & Helen for covering today...they each got a Lobster to take home as a thanks. We have another hunting trip going out this Sunday on the Island Diver out of Redondo Beach. We will be hunting lobster along Palos Verdes and all are welcome to join. Even if you are a novice, you can give it a try since it’s a day dive. We will be there to coach you as long as you have the proper gear, good Buoyancy and a lobster license :-) See more
