NWS High Surf Warning Issued for Monday-Tuesday. The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for the entire coastline. The primary initial hazard Monday will be sneaker waves before swells build Monday afternoon into Tuesday causing large breaking waves and a strong rip current. Please use caution when visiting our beaches and coastal areas.
Red Flag Warning Until 5pm Monday. The Red Flag Warning has been extended to 5 PM Monday as winds are expected to remain offshore and breezy through the day and humidity levels will be dry due to afternoon heating.
Santa is Coming to Town Saturday, Dec. 5. Join your neighbors curbside to greet Santa as he makes his way through Pacifica on Saturday, December 5 beginning at 12 noon. What is a Tsunami Alert? Monday's 7.5 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Alaska could have triggered a tsunami that would threaten our coastline. Known as the Loma Prieta Earthquake, many longtime residents can tell you exactly what they were doing when they felt this quake. ... Are you prepared for the next major earthquake or a tsunami? Join us for the 23nd presentation of our EQP class. Due to measures in place to stop the spread of COVID19, this course is presented via Zoom.
