REAL ID Act Summary: when your ID expires, don't renew online. Make an appointment to the DMV and get your federally compliant REAL ID. You'll need a REAL ID (or a passport) to board a domestic flight, enter a federal building, or even open a bank account, as of 10/1/2020. So, when you apply, you'll need to take your SS card or W-2, take a utility bill as proof of residence, take your ID or passport. If your current ID expires before 10/1/2020, no rush... just do this before it expires. The rest of you may need to apply early.

So I get a call at 2am. Couple is heading to LAX for a 5am flight for the father and son to Belize. You need a notarized letter giving consent for the minor to travel internationally with only one (or neither) parent. Well... they should be getting ready to board now.
