Congratulations to Kai Schumann and Lauren Schwartz! California State University awarded its photography Grand Prize Best of Show to Kai Schumann, an STHS photography student. Their annual contest and show bring the best of student photography from around the state to compete for prize money and publication. This is the ninth year in a row that STHS students have won this prestigious award.

The district continues to monitor COVID-19 activity in the County and State. Although there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in El Dorado County, or South Lake Tahoe at this time, there are many cases confirmed in neighboring counties. Local health authorities advise that it is likely to reach our community and taking preventive measures now is essential to limiting the spread of the virus. As the situation develops daily, Lake Tahoe Unified, following guidance from the ...California Department of Public Health, CDC, and Barton Health, is implementing the steps described in the Pandemic Preparedness Plan. As of this date, with no confirmed cases in the county, the district is following the protocol outlined in Scenario 1. Therefore, please be advised that tonight’s and tomorrow night’s school concerts are canceled per the guidelines for mass gatherings: Event organizers should cancel or postpone the mass gathering event (including concerts, plays, banquets, fundraisers) if participants or audience are other than students, elderly, or traveling from communities with COVID-19 outbreaks.
