I this post from a local mama- Breastfeeding is HARD! I struggled with my last. The truth is everyone struggles with breastfeeding- maybe in different ways. Some may have issues with getting a deep latch. Some may struggle with a sick baby, birth complications or a baby who isn’t latching at all. Everyone has their own struggles as the entire family dynamic shifts underneath you while you begin the steep learning curve of breastfeeding and parenting. Give yourself time and b...e gentle and positive to yourself with your thoughts. You are not failing. You are learning. Together. Repost @happilymarissa Sometimes breastfeeding looks like this. Yup, that's right. My baby is breastfed but with a bottle 100% of the time. I am one of the many women out there who have babies who couldn't latch so we hook ourselves up to a pump multiple times a day (currently 6 for me but at one point it was 10) in order to breastfeed our babes. It is BY FAR the hardest part of motherhood. Exclusively pumping is triple the work and takes serious discipline. I can't even tell you how many times I have wanted to quit. I have been pumping everyday for the past 5 months and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. At first I didn't know how I could possibly do this for even 1 month because I f*ing HATE it but I have found my rhythm and now it's just apart of my life. My goal is to make it to one year! This is a very personal choice I am making, pumping for my baby, and it certainly isn't for everyone. I still try to get Klay to latch everyday. I'm not quite ready to completely give up on nursing my baby. There is a part of me that hopes one of these days it will click for him again (he latched for a short time) and I will have that nursing relationship that I desire and all this pumping will be SO worth it as my supply will be there for him. If he never does, well then I least know for my heart that I was able to give him the gift of my breast milk through some hard work and love for my boy #breastfeeding #pumpingmom #momlife #momblogger #babyboy #5monthsold #honestmotherhood #motherhood #RealMoms #exclusivelypumping

I had to SHARE- I just love this video #Repost @angelawombwarrior @doulatrainingsint Oh my gosh This reminds me of Ruby. She's even got the breasts moulding down pat #Repost @kaleymunday... One more clip because how could I not share this? She yelled at me to take off her shirt and that she HAD to give the baby some milk She's been very intrigued with nursing. This little gal has had a lot of adjusting the last few days but the best part is she either plays the role of a baby or is the mother to Reese. Just going with the Quinny flow @lactationlink thought you'd be proud of Quinnys efforts:) See more

I needed to hear this today-This made me tear up! I have the same stomach with stretch marks from children. We woman should not feel ashamed of our bodies. Amazing words & words: @ellianagilbertphotography Repost: @empoweredbirthproject _... "Within this tiny space, dreams came true. Within this vessel, 3 lifelines were created. New love was born. New purpose arrived. __ How could this incredible vehicle of life possibly be shamed or urged to cover up or be hidden? Why should such an amazing biological process come to an end and then be shut away, never to be seen again? Why is the pregnant body so "radiant" and "aglow" and yet, a postpartum body needs to begin a regimen in order to "bounce back" to something it was before? Why shouldn't it be allowed to be whatever it is, and celebrated for whatever it is, whether it's soft, or firm, muscular, or not so much? __ As a birth photographer and a photographer of primarily female clients.... I can tell you, no matter how fit women are who come out to see me for photography, no matter how "textbook-beautiful" women might be, no matter how hard they work to be fit and healthy, and eat well, and live an active lifestyle, etc, etc.... the majority of my clients have some degree of insecurity or shame or embarrassment towards their own personal form / body. A landslide majority. __ Why???? Media. Media, media, media. __ So... this is my own form of media. Via social media. And I'm going to show you this image of the 3x postpartum torso of a gorgeous young woman, and I am going to tell you categorically and without any hesitation, this woman is beautiful. She's a rockstar for having carried to term and birthing 3 babies, and she should not be made to feel guilty or ashamed of the skin she wears. Life is too damn short to waste away hating yourself for something you cannot change, for something that forever changed you in an amazing way, made you who you are today. __ Let's please PLEASE, for the sake of LIFE ITSELF.... let's try to love and nurture ourselves while we're here on this planet. Be kind to ourselves, and be kind to one another. And f*ck the media's unrealistic beauty standards." See more
