While it may seem like restaurant workers and owners may have less to do during the current state of affairs, we find plenty to do and Luc is a great example of that. We’ve started a little wine shop in the depot side of the restaurant as well as what we’ve coined as Saltwater Farm. While bbq’s and parties aren’t in the cards for most this Memorial Day that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy great food with some of those same flavors. This week we have a throwback to Luc’s days at Hog Island with a grilled cheese made with mezzo secco, gruyere and fromage blanc. It’s crunchy, rich and tangy and pairs perfectly with our tomato soup. We also have a rhubarb and strawberry cobbler made with Yerena Farm strawberries. Yerena is located in Watsonville and can be found at Bay Area markets 6 days a week including the ferry building on saturdays. You’ll find their raspberries on our tart as well.
