A trip to Pismo just isn’t complete without stopping at Old West Cinnamon Rolls! If you’ve been to Pismo in the last 40 years you’ve likely seen the line formi...ng around the block in front of Old West Cinnamon Rolls on Dolliver Street, and for good reason! Here you will truly find some of the best cinnamon rolls you’ve ever had, made fresh daily using the same recipe family matriarch Betty Clemens came up with in the 1970’s. Amazingly the original recipe was only intended for breadmaking, and lovingly became nicknamed Joe’s Bread because of the picture of her son she used on the bags. Betty soon began traveling to local fairs and selling fresh rolls for 25 apiece, but it wasn’t until a little girl at the Arizona State Fair asked Betty to make her something sweet that ultimately turned her attention to creating her fair famous cinnamon rolls. Since then Betty opened the official bakery in Pismo where these days she sells nine different versions of her famous cinnamon rolls, and she still visits every day!
