It's been quite a roller coaster over the past couple years riding the rails of community development. One of the more hilarious points of contention is the name of this Park. YES! It's officially "Lincoln Oval Park" but even Visalia Parks and Recreation changed the sign for one simple reason...MARKETING. Much like Orchard Supply Hardware is now just "OSH", Oval Park is just shorter. So a couple things: 1. Lincoln Oval Park is not named after a former Visalia pioneer or fami...ly from the 19th century who broke its ground. It's named after Abraham Lincoln...the former president...who never visited Visalia. 2. It's not the original name (see "North Park" on this 1895 map). So...let's move on to what really matters: a safe and vibrant neighborhood!
