Ryan is an External Affairs Representative with the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) where he works with elected officials and regulatory agencies to promote transit-friendly policies, as well as conducts community outreach to external stakeholders, riders, and the general public. Ryan has spent over 15 years in the public policy and community engagement realm, working for a Berk...eley City Councilmember prior to coming to AC Transit. The breadth of issue areas in which Ryan has experience throughout his career has given him a unique perspective that allows him to recognize the variety of intersectionalities across public policy issues, which is a primary reason he was interested in HOP and how transportation and health outcomes are related. Prior to joining HOP, Patty was a policy advocate working to ensure the human right to safe and affordable drinking water for all Californians. Patty is passionate about achieving health equity through direct service, research, and policy. She brings years of experience serving populations in safety-net healthcare systems in different capacities and as an experi...enced researcher, Patty has published research on digital mental health interventions for diverse populations. Originally from the Central Valley, Patty has adopted the Bay Area as her home. She earned an MPH degree and BA degrees in Social Welfare and Psychology from UC Berkeley.
