Bilingual GED class at Laney College...English and Spanish...127 students enrolled in the first semester. We fought for two years to get this class going.

Amazon.com is expanding the job training and credential programs it offers to its employees. Google and IBM have similar programs. Could they someday become competition for community colleges and other continuing education programs? What do you think?

Raul Mendoza is now a GED Graduate! Speaking Mam as his first language and neither fluent in Spanish nor in English he mastered all four areas covered by the GED!! He told me tonight he can now apply for construction jobs that require a high school diploma. I am so proud of him!!! Oakland Adult and Career Education.
