Interested in law enforcement? Want to know more about our local law enforcement agencies? By attending the academy, you will have a chance to get an inside look at your police and sheriff departments, and meet officers and staff from several agencies. If you choose to become a volunteer, you can explore career options, build your resume, gain 'on the job' skills, have community involvement, and meet lots of new people. You will learn about your community and the benefit...s of volunteering. It has been awhile since we were able to hold an Academy and we are very excited it is being offered this summer. Applications must be completed before June 16th. Please contact Orland Police Department (530) 865-1616, Officer Kat Lowery if you are interested in attending this up-coming Academy. It starts in just a few short weeks!

6th Annual Glenn County Olympiad - May 6, 2021 Orland Volunteers in Police Service and several other members of our Emergency, Medical, Fire, Law Enforcement and Military organizations enjoyed a beautiful day at Orland High School. According to the flyer, this is Glenn County's version of the Special Olympics, though it is not restricted to special education students. We enjoyed seeing everyone compete in track and field sports. Good music, great DJ, and many families came by to visit our booths. It was a great day!

At 1:33pm Friday August 14th Orland Firefighters were notified of a structure fire at 63 South street. The structure had heavy smoke and flame showing when unit...s arrived at scene. With temperatures above 105 degrees we requested mutual aid from Artois, Corning, Hamilton City, Willows and Capay fire departments. We also would like to thank Westside ambulance for standing by to keep an eye on all of our firefighters. Although the structure was a total loss firefighters were able to save the family's rabbits trapped in the basement. Thanks to the Orland Volunteers in Police Service for protecting the scene by providing traffic control. Many thanks to our auxillary firefighters Phil Putnam, Vince Cannizzaro and Mike Lazzaretto for their help. Many others helped with shuttling water, firefighters and food for us. Brittany Stidham - Giving Back to the Badge Glenn County - Our final Give Back Day to the Orland VIPS was tonight at their Annual Award ight. It was bitter sweet to say the least. Thank you everyone for your hard work, dedication, support and love. You all are AMAZING! I am so happy to have met many new friends, and to be a part of this movement.
