The Cal State and the University of California systems do not require SAT or ACT this year. But if you're applying to some schools that still consider SAT scores, beware that test centers are being closed for Covid left and right. A colleague in New Jersey said the majority of her students have not been able to take the test. Some only found out about test center cancellation on the day they showed up and there's a sign in front saying it's cancelled. Another colleague in Se...attle told me one student actually drove to Montana, 400 miles away, just to take the test. A lot of it has to do with the Covid situation locally. Most schools are already teaching remotely, and even those that open for office workers, if one worker is positive then everyone has to go home and isolate themselves, thus closing the school completely on short notice. So you're not alone if your test sitting is cancelled, repeatedly. And there isn't a lot you or the College Board can really do about it. Just need to take that into account when planning your test and school applications.
