I’m pleased to announce our new associate, Dr Julia Truong. Dr. Truong grew up in the Bay Area, and from a young age she has always been curious about how the human body functions. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from the University of California, Berkeley where she developed an interest in preventative care. While in college, Dr. Truong worked part-time as a medical scribe in the hospital’s emergency department and saw many patients who came into the ER b...ecause of dental pain. She observed that ER physicians, unfortunately, were only able to provide painkillers for those patients and send them home with instructions to visit a dentist. It was then that Dr. Truong realized how often preventative dental care is overlooked among the general population. Dr. Truong decided to take the Dental Aptitude Test and applied to dental school. She completed her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she received the Dean’s Award for Leadership and the Academy of General Dentistry’s Outstanding Senior Student Award. With insurance driven dentistry and limited by the yearly dental maximum it is hard for us as a profession to do the correct thing. I understand there is a cost and dentistry is expensive. When rebuilding someone’s mouth a lot of times it cannot be done one tooth at a time. Planning in the mouth for restorations is not just covering the tooth. Final Bridge from #8-10. I posted this case in the temp phase earlier. 75 year old patient had a loose bridge. Post was loose on the #10 abutment. CT taken but ...patient did not want to do implant. There was enough bone for one though . Bonded posts placed forming composite around the post and fitting it and bonding it to fiber post prior to bonding it to the tooth.A preformed custom post and core like a cast post and core as I see it. Ferrule intact and diode laser recountouring around the pontic site. Custom shadeed cut back Zr. Bridge made and cemented.
