The fire season just started and it has already been devastating to say the least. However, even more dangerous and scary is that during the natural disasters criminals are out there waiting for the evacuees to leave prior to preying on homes and businesses. The most highly vulnerable are residential communities, larger housing estates and commercial buildings which are targeted frequently. Surveillance cameras are great but do not deter professional criminals who move quickl...y and loot by having already done prior scouting and knowing which areas are best targets and most profitable. An alarming concern across Los Angeles has been the increase in crime rates which has gradually shifted upward now for 3 years in a row. Robberies across the Valley rose 33 percent in comparison to 14 percent citywide. The number of Valley homicides climbed 14 percent with 65 murders, compared with an increase of nearly 4 percent with 294 murders across Los Angeles. The breakdown: Violent crime on the whole rose more than 10 percent, according to LAPD statistics. That include...s the 4 percent rise in homicide, 14 percent rise in robberies and a nearly 10 percent rise in aggravated assaults. Lastly, over 35 percent rise in homelessness has only made the situation worse. There are just not enough police to detract crime. Oracle Statement on recent activities and recent news is that all religious institutions need to be on high alert. Anti-Semitic incidents reported to the Anti-Defamation League increased from 1,267 in 2016 to 1,986 in 2017. Anti-Muslim hate crimes in the U.S. rose in the past year from 260 to 300 incidents, according to figures from CAIR.... The forms of hate have been examples of graffiti on religious institutes, damage to property, or outright attacks on people attending congregation according to Rabbi Jacobs. Lastly, we cannot forget the mass shooting that took place at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
