This Oil on Canvas is one of mine(the instructor at Opus in Oils Art School and Gallery in Vallejo CA). I really enjoy traveling down the road less traveled with my paintings into a more surreal category. To be honest, I find it hard to categorize my work. I think when I have more paintings and bulk I will create a category all my own!!

This painting is done by my 7 year old student! Younger children usually prefer to apply paint quickly and finish a painting quickly as well. I try to teach them that painting is analogous to life and takes time and patience. Here are a couple of my students working diligently away at their work. It is most amazing to watch the creative light bulbs go off in a child's mind when they grasp either something of color, perspective, design, or negative space!! It literally is like watching a flower grow and bloom especially if they have the patience, drive, and focus to stick with it!!
