The Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 257 and Boy Scout Troop 257, put up flags along Highway 18 in the Village in Apple Valley for the Town of Apple Valley and the Optimist Club of Apple Valley to celebrate 4th of July. This was done by individual families that took their time to put out a few flags each so as not to create a hazard under current conditions. Thanks to those families that took the time to help get this done and further normalize our lives by showing respect for our country and all of its people. The Scouts and Optimist club have been doing flags in our community since 1968.

Thanks to those that took the time to help get this done and further normalize our lives by showing respect for our country and all of its people. The Scouts and Optimist club have been doing flags in our community since 1968.

As you know last month Optimist Club had their annual fund raiser. We went forward with it because at that time the State was saying gatherings of 250 or less ...were fine and we were under that. I have to say the committee knew it was going to be a crap shoot on success but decided to move forward. I am very proud to announce we raised over 13,000 for the kids programs we do. We had a great attendance, it was fun and I am here to say this Valley has many kind caring people in it. I will be posting names of our Sponsor's throughout the days - I think it's important they are given a shout out. See more

The annual Apple Valley Optimist Club Roast and Toast is going on now at the Town of Apple Valley conference center. Thank you to all our wonderful supporters and donors. The Optimist Club is gearing up for our annual event. If you haven’t gone, it’s the place to be! The Optimist Club raises money for youth in the community and supports a huge range of youth programs from Boy Scouts, Juvenile Cancer to JROTC and so much more. We also support local law enforcement, Patriotic activities and local community programs. The Scouts from Pack and Troop 257, and AAE JROTC are doing flags in the Village and Town Center in Apple Valley for the Optimist Club of Apple Valley in honor of Presidents Day. The Scouts and Optimist club have been doing flags in our community since 1968. Be sure to check out the free, annual Optimist Tri-Star Basketball Skills program, open to all youth 8-13, and all Optimist youth partners of any age, at the gym at James Woody Center on Navaho February 18th at 6pm. It is a great time to be had by all kids, not just basketball stars! Also remember the Easter Eggstravaganza at James Woody Park on April 11th at 9:30

The Optimists are at member Tom Schibush’s Chips4Kids event at Gators to collect toys for needy kids in the Victor Valley area! Great event! Thank you to Robert Pine and the CHP for making time to come out and support the community!

Fellow Optimists and Friends: Well, here we are, just three days from our Annual ALWAYS VALUE OUR KIDS Roast/Toast, taking place this Saturday, March 9th at the Apple Valley Town Center (same location as in the past years). We are excited with our new picnic theme, should bring up many ideas on what to wear. My preference Shorts and Hawaiian shirt. Of course, a lot depends on the weather.... So if you haven’t yet bought your tickets, make sure to call Vicki Murray ASAP (760-954-6606) so we can tie down the final number of attendees and re-affirm with the caterer. Looking forward to seeing a Great Group of supportive Optimists and Friends while we recognize and Roast Bobby Tarango and Toast the Assistance League of Victor Valley.

Very glad to say that at our A.V.O.C Awards dinner, on March 9th , for the Optimist Club the following Young men and women will be serving the dinner. Job's Daughter's Bethel 262, Demolay , Granite Hills High School Baseball team, Scouts , Mav's Girls softball team. The youth is our future these kids are on the right path .

My friend Dan W Daniel Tate has genuinely put together a project to help meet the needs of others. But, We humbly ask for your assistance as he needs volunteers to work on a Saturday in September to make it happen.

Annual Tri-Star Basketball Skills Competition Tuesday Feburay 27, 2018 6:00 to 8:00 pm Who is up for some fun? It is that time again when the Apple Valley Optimist Club hosts their annual Tri-Star youth basketball skills competition at the gym at James Woody park on Navajo Rd in Apple Valley. Fun to be had by all! Kids do not need to be basketball stars to play, it is just a good old fashioned fun time for kids from 8-13.

Once again, the members of the Advisory Board and their friends provided an enormous boost in Christmas spirit to campus and group home residents with giant han...d-made stockings stuffed with holiday presents. The volunteers crafted 100 huge stockings loaded with gifts any teenager would treasure. Advisory Board members Cindy Osbrink, Jennifer Parker-Stanton, Michaela Pereira, Carolyn Rodriguez, Cheri and Larry Smith, Gina Shafer, Mary Mohammad, Barbara Moore and Susie Parker headed up the project. Each of the stockings was packed with $25 Target gift cards, scarves, wallets, journals, handheld games, toiletries, decks of cards, socks, batteries, and plenty of candy.

Tuesday's meeting (December 12th, 7 pm at Los Domingos) Mary Hughes will be speaking. She is an author of children's books and novels great, great lady. If you need Christmas gifts for children her books are wonderful and she will have them there should someone want to purchase them. The novels make great adult gifts also! You can goodle Mary Hughes and get more info if you want.

Deputy Griego spoke last night at our Optimist meeting about P.A.L. and the S.H.O.C.K. program he helps run. Was a great man to have such passion about kids and helping them. The program is designed to help troubled youth in the Valley. if you are in need of a good program to have at your club or Organization this would be a good one.
