When I was about 10 years old, my family went on our annual two weeks of camping in the middle of nowhere (Lake Almanor). We dry camped out of a truck for two weeks straight every summer on BLM land. (For those that aren’t aware that means digging your own latrine and straddling a downed tree limb.) I was in camp with my Mom reading a book wondering if we were having fresh trout for dinner or leftovers. Three men walked into our camp. Again, middle of nowhere, in a spot where three men shouldn’t just happen to be, walk into someone’s camp. The men were immediately confrontational demanding to know why my Mom and I had taken their campsite. Now, my Mom is a good Christian woman who has always believed in the power of prayer. Fortunately those prayers were made manifest by my father who quietly slipped into camp behind the trio with his Colt Python in hand. My father calmly, but with menace that could only be developed through hard earned experience told the men to leave immediately. The leader, startled, turned to face my father, gathered himself up for confrontation, and suddenly melted into a puddle of goo. He and I saw the look on my father’s face and both had immediate and opposite reactions. He knew he was one sentence away from dying and I knew that my dad had made a decision to violently respond without hesitation. The leader turned stark white and he and his companions backed out of our campsite and left. We packed up and went home immediately, stopping only to report the incident to whatever law enforcement my dad found. While we packed up my Dad shared with me above quote. I brought my kiddo out to attend our Carbine 2 class this past weekend. Here he is with Joe learning movement while shooting. He’s gotten much smoother with his reloads. Now it’s time to build his confidence and speed.

We took a moment today from instructing on the range to induct the newest member of the ONE on ONE Firearms competitive shooting team! We are proud to announce that Art Benoit has been named to the team. We've been shooting with Art for years. In that time, he's proven to be a great ambassador for the shooting sports, a tenacious competitor, along with being a good friend of ours. Benoit is a recently minted Master class IDPA shooter who has shown that he's not stopping there. Our belief is that Art will continue to develop as a shooter, and has some great match performances ahead of him. We're really excited to be able to continue to share shooting sports experiences with Art in the future as we travel the country shooting major matches.

Team ONE on ONE Firearms had a strong performance at this past weekend's 2020 Wilson Combat Rocky Mountain Regional IDPA Championship. Team shooters took 2 divisional win, and a hard-fought 2nd place in Stock Service Pistol (SSP) by team shooter Sean Young.
